Connor Fields is a 2X USA Olympian and professional BMX cyclist who just won the gold in Rio.
Connor began competing in BMX at the age 7 after his mother saw a flyer advertising the local BMX track at a bike shop near their home in Las Vegas. His parents drove him to practice five nights per week at up to five hour distances to get him to and fro the track.
Connor has overcome multiple injuries, including a spleen laceration in 2009 and torn ligament in 2012, and rose to the top of his sport this summer in Rio. He finished the 400m circuit in 34.64s, to beat out a pool of eight finalists that included his friend and teammate Nicholas Long.
