Royan Kamyar, M.D., MBA, founder and CEO of Owaves presents at TEDxUCSD’s Salon Event on February 27, 2014. He discusses Illvolution, the study of how how disease evolves, or “illvolves”, over time, and why it is important for us to recognize this as we strive to improve the health of future generations.
Royan is a physician entrepreneur and writer focused on contributing to the wellness renaissance. He is the founder and CEO of Owaves, a cosmopolitan lifestyle medicine brand and company producing software tools for wearable devices that inspire and motivate the next generation to engage in healthy lifestyle activities. Owaves is based in Encinitas, CA and was founded in May of 2013.
Prior, Royan co-founded Sanitas Inc., producing FDA-cleared outpatient management software, and techseeds. He is a California-licensed physician and a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He holds an M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine, an MBA from Rady School of Management at UC San Diego, a BS in Biochemistry and a BA in Business Administration from UC Berkeley and the Haas School of Business.
