Building an Engaged Community of Healthy Employees

I work for a global technology company and my daily mission is to create an environment where our employees can stretch themselves both personally and professionally. Here’s how we do it:

Engage. Enrich. Educate.

We start with opportunities for our employees to build relationships with each other. Our best vehicle to achieve this is exercise. We have daily “Net-Workouts” for folks to get outside, be active, and meet each other. This creates a community of “co-friends.” Further, we provide education around healthy lifestyle, nutrition, relaxation techniques, as well as opportunities to give back and be altruistic. The result: an incredible place to work!

The ideas that we implement globally for our employees align perfectly with the Owaves experience. Specifically, the Five Lifestyle Vitals that Owaves has built technology around help us stay focused on our most important health goals. The Five Vitals are fundamental elements of living our best, most rewarding lives.

Five Lifestyle Vital Signs

  • Exercise
  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Stress Management
  • Love / Social

The Five Vitals Feedback Loop

Consider that the food we eat impacts our mood, which impacts our thoughts, which determine our actions! Our sleep impacts our energy levels, which impact, our desire to exercise, which impacts our mood. It runs in circles as a daily feedback loop. Our bodies, minds and emotions are INTERDEPENDENT on one another. Focusing on any one area will give us some benefit, but by putting it all together, we have a game changer.

Owaves gives us the ability to make our “best life” become real by scheduling it.
