In continuing our #StayHomeWorld campaign, this week we are featuring Finlay Mowat, a third-year music student in Edinburgh, Scotland, specializing in recording, sound engineering, and drumming. Finlay has lived in many different cities during his life; he is originally from Scotland and moved to Edinburgh after living in Bangkok, Thailand. He wants to pursue a lifelong career in music and is aiming to explore the many avenues within the music industry. In his free time, he loves making new songs and remixes!

Finlay Mowat’s daily routine:

  • 9AM – Wake up
  • 9:30AM – Run/ workout
  • 10:30AM – Shower
  • 11:00AM – Breakfast
  • 11:30AM – Start work
  • 1:30PM – Lunch
  • 2:00PM – Make music
  • 5:00PM – PS4 with brother/friends
  • 6:30PM – Dinner
  • 7:30PM – Make some more music
  • 9:00PM – Watch a movie and go to bed

From Live Audiences to Bedroom Performances

Due to the stay-at-home order, Finlay is no longer able to perform at music gigs and DJ at special events. Despite this setback, he is using his free time to further his music production skills, by practicing drumming, playing the piano, and remixing music from his bedroom. This is the perfect time for Finlay to master his skills that he is already passionate about and immerse himself in the music-making process.
