Roger Stewart is a fitness professional, author, and USA deaflympian. In 2005, he won the Greco-Roman division and placed second in freestyle qualifying him for the Deaf Olympics in Australia. Here’s a glimpse of his daily routine:

5:00 AM: Wake up
5:30 AM: Breakfast – cranberries, oatmeal, and orange juice
6:30 AM: Work
9:00 AM: Wrestling practice
11:30 AM: Lunch – Mediterranean lemon chicken salad, 1/2 gallon of water
12:00 PM: Work
3:00 PM: Frozen grapes and bananas
4:00 PM: Wrestling practice/strength training
5:30 PM: Recovery center with a massage/ice bath
7:00 PM: Dinner – 7oz salmon, avocado, spinach, sweet potato, 1/2 gallon of water
9:00 PM: Bedtime
11:00 PM: Protein shake
What gets you out of bed every morning?
My alarm clock that blasts “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor.
What is the most important part of your daily routine?
The most important part is recovery so I could go another round at an extra mile!!
Whose “O” (or day plan) would you most love to see?
Robert “Bob/Kookie” Vialpando. He was a mentor, father, social worker, counselor, and he always took great pride in his work ethic. He always said that “the only time success comes before work is in the dictionary!”

“The whistle that you do not hear, means the match is not over.”
What is your favorite part of living a healthy lifestyle?
Age is just a number and you can overcome doubters and look young. You know for a fact that you’re doing something right about your healthy lifestyle to continue your passion.
What’s your biggest wellness challenge? How do you address it?
My biggest wellness challenge is my hearing, one of the most important senses. The reason I say this is because it is part of your health to where you should hear your surroundings. The simplest way to address this is by finding a nice quiet location away from fans or teammates. Then you can block all the mechanisms out to keep the stress from building on top of your performance.
