The Power of Mindfulness
Lauren is a strong believer in the power of mindfulness, having experienced its restorative and healing power within her own life. Her relationship with mindfulness was ignited as a college student. She began practicing meditation to alleviate depression from her past and anxiety about her future. Being mindful of the present moment allowed her to shift her energy towards productively achieving her goals. In our “always-on” digital world, the idea of slowing down can be off-putting. We should train our brain the way we train our muscles – with consistency and intention. Scheduling 15 minutes of mindfulness into our day goes a long way over time. If the real meditation is how we live our life, then each day counts!
Syncing Social Rhythms Across the U.S.
Time changes are tough, especially when trying to keep in touch with family and friends across the United States! Many of Lauren’s family members and friends live in New York, a three-hour time difference from San Diego. She makes keeping in touch with them a priority, incorporating it into her daily schedule. Despite having different social rhythms than them, Lauren has been able to connect with them often using the Owaves app. She loves using #MyMoai on the new Social version of the app (which is releasing worldwide soon!) to sync schedules with her social systems across the globe.
