The Top 5 Productivity Apps We are Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Owaves to you and your family. We wish you health, wellness, and happiness!

Waze

This little gem is a time saver and traffic avoider! Plug in your destination and Waze uses real time user-generated traffic data to give you the most efficient route. It also allows you to share your ETA with friends and automatically gives you directions home when you’re leaving an unfamiliar place.

LastPass

At Owaves, we are all about simplifying our lives. While technology is awesome, one of the major downsides to using many apps and devices on a daily basis is the constant struggle to remember each username and password. Who knows how much productivity those constant interruptions are draining. Enter LastPass. It’s an easy to use, secure keeper of all usernames and passwords. It stores multiple profiles, so each time you visit a website, you select who you’d like to use the site as from a list. This app saves us seconds every time we login somewhere, which adds up to valuable hours in the long run!

Doodle

With team members across the globe in different time zones, finding meeting times that work for the whole Owaves team can be tough. Doodle allows “social scheduling”, helping groups of people find the best date and time for an event. An organizer suggests a few options, invites others to vote for their favorites and picks the one that works!

Clear

Perhaps Harvard surgeon and director of the World Health Organization’s Global Patient Safety Challenge Atul Gawande puts it best when he says, “under conditions of complexity, not only are checklists a help, they are required for success.” To-do lists rule the world, and the days of scratching them on a sheet of paper and crossing them out with ink when done are very 1.0. Enter, Clear. Perhaps the most user-friendly to-do list app out there, all the gestures required to operate and manage your lists are smooth and intuitive.

Basecamp

In the worlds of Trello, Asana and Swipes, it’s easy to get lost in the search for the best project management platform for you and your team. In the spirit of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, our team has been loyal to 37Signals and its signature Basecamp product since Day 1. The app allows you to contact team members, maintain to-do lists and upload files. Maybe you can’t play Texas Hold’em on the platform, but is that really what you want this for?

What are your favorite time-saving apps? Please leave us a comment below. Are there any apps that you wish existed, but don’t? Let us know your ideas! Happy Thanksgiving.

  1. This is a great list! In addition to Owaves I like Trello for project management. Their apps have always been ahead of Basecamp’s in terms of user friendliness and fun.
Basecamp is great for communication, but for a task list I find Trello a bit better.
